Velohana is a small outfit and majors on support and service. While Coach Will does most of the operation, we do have assistance from those in our training community helping. At no point should you lack any confidence or understanding.

1.1 Can I ride with you?

Absolutely.  Check out our club on Strava for when our next scheduled ride is or reach out to coach Will.

1.2 Where can I learn more about Velohana

We post all of our updates, pictures, and ride plans on our various social media platforms.

1.3 I'm eager to try training for my first triathlon. Do I need a bike?

Getting a bike can be an expensive and daunting task, but we've attempted to simplify that significantly. Yes, you will need a bike, but at Velohana, we have a selection of demo bikes on hand to supplement our bike fitting service to dial in a bike around your anatomy and physiology. This is really important as you'll have the opportunity to get a feel for the bike, get the right size bike and have it built according to the fit metrics gained from the fitting service.

1.4 Do you offer online coaching? I'm not a Hawaii resident!

Absolutely! Your training plan being delivered through Training Peaks - the online leader in training platforms - and we also provide you the Training Peaks app for free! Within each workout will be steps and relevant video links (if applicable) as well as any other helpful bits of information. Coach Will also meets with folks via Google Meetings and phone at no extra cost, a unique feature in the endurance world. In fact, EVERY client has a minimum 1x monthly meeting scheduled in their plan! This, we hope, helps bridge the gap for our distance clients.

1.5 Do I need to be a subscriber to training to get bike service, fitting or other services?

We offer services for everyone! From bike tuneups to custom builds, fitting and bike sales, we offer it all plus a lot more! So no, you do not need to be a subscriber.

Most of our customers come from the typical bike shop experience. Still, others have other coaches who come to Velohana for their bike service and fitting. You do not need to be 'training' to enjoy our myriad offerings. However, for those who do train with Velohana, they enjoy many benefits including discounted rates on fitting, service and so much more!

 

 

1.6 Do you coach swimming?

Absolutely, albeit a focused effort. At Velohana, we work within the Triathlon context, therefore we are very intent on enabling our clients to swim in the open water, specifically adopting the distance freestyle stroke. Velohana offers a comprehensive Swim Bundle from Finis Swim, our partner, for new and veteran triathletes within our training program. If there are repeated faults in swimming, 1 on 1 sessions can be arranged at extra cost. Additional support is also available if deemed necessary, as Velohana partners with several talented local entities, like the University of Hawaii Masters Swim Club.
